  1. Carbon monoxide - test air flow for dangerous carbon monoxide
  2. Thermostat - test for proper operation, calibrate and level
  3. Furnace - inspect for combustible material around perimeter
  4. Ignition system - test for safe and proper operation
  5. Exhaust system - test for proper venting
  6. Supply/return air - measure temperature differential
  7. Safety devices - inspect for proper operation
  8. Blower - inspect and adjust fan belt tension (if applicable)
  9. Existing air filter - clean (if needed)
  10. Blower motor air vents - lubricate and clean
  11. Furnace burner & heat exchanger - brush and vacuum
  12. Duct work - inspect for impairment
  13. Furnace exterior - clean
  14. Heat exchangers - check for dangerous cracks and wear
  15. Gas pressure - measure and adjust for peak efficiency
  16. Mechanical - lubricate all moving parts as per manufacturer
  17. Blower motor - measure amperage and voltage for proper operation
  18. Electrical wiring - inspect and tighten connections
  19. Combustion vents - clean and inspect (upper and lower)
  20. Natural gas - check for leaks
